REMINDER – PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILD GET INTO THE CHROMEBOOK HABIT

Please help the school with our 1:1 Chromebook initiative by having your child charge their Chromebook each night so that it is ready to be used during the school day. Making this a daily habit and establishing a place to charge the Chromebook at home (ideally near your child’s backpack or school supplies).

GRADE 7 STUDENTS: GRADE 8 ELECTIVES PREFERENCES

Grade 7 students will be completing an electives preference form in the coming days in their social studies classes. Students will rank their electives preference for Grade 8. GRADE 8 FIELD TESTING

On Thursday and Friday Grade 8 students will complete NYS ELA Computer Based Field Testing in English classes.

8TH GRADE FAREWELL DANCE DETAILS

Dance is Friday June 7 from 7-9 p.m. at Algonquin Middle School.  Tickets will be on sale, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during lunches.  Tickets are $7 each. To volunteer or donate an item, please click on the link below:

After the dance, the NOpiates is hosting a Get Air Trampoline Park event at Crossgates Mall. There is a Bus leaving from Algonquin at the end of the dance at 9:00pm Round trip bus will return by 11:45 p.m. to Algonquin. Please be prompt for pick up.
Only students who attend the dance will be allowed to come to the After Dance Event. Students will need a signed waiver and signed permission slip to be allowed on the bus.
We currently have 43 signed waivers but only 14 permission slips, please be sure to get permission slips in!
If you have any questions about the Get Air event or have an interest in volunteering to chaperone, please feel free to email annec@apcsd.org
There is no charge for chaperones to attend.

WARRIOR WAY ASSEMBLIES – MON & TUES

Our final Warrior Way Assemblies for the year will take place on Monday (Teams 2, 4 and 6) and Tuesday (Teams 1, 3 and 5) mornings. Thank you for your continued support of our school’s character education programming.

ST. HENRY’S SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM

St. Henry’s Summer Food Program is offering supplemental food over the summer months to families that received free or reduced-cost school lunches with the APCSD during the school year. Food pick up by families will be on two days of each month (July and August) at St. Henry’s Church Community Room (lower level on parking lot side of the church). Interested and qualified families may complete the attached form and mail it to the address on the bottom of the form no later than Friday, June 7.
Pick up dates and time – Monday 7/8/19 and Tuesday 7/9/19 4-6 p.m.
Monday 8/5/19 and Tuesday 8/6/19 4-6 p.m.

STUDENT COUNCIL DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT – THURSDAY

Student Council will be hosting its annual Dodgeball Tournament on Thursday, June 6. The cost is $5 per team member and we will be having teams of 5. The spectator cost is $2 per person. There will be snacks available for purchase at the event. The tournament runs from 2:35-4:00. Students may take the late bus home at 3:20 or will need to be picked up at 4. APO SPONSORED “AP INVADED!” SCIENCE SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE

This summer, Algonquin Middle School will be hosting the first AP Invaded! Science Summer Camp. This week long, research-focused summer camp will be held July 8-12, 8 am – 12 pm. Campers will collaborate in groups to research how local invasive species effect the community, play interactive games and visit Grafton State Park to interact with land managers. AP All SPORTS CAMP – JULY 1-3
