JESSICA ZWEIG

I am pleased, once again, to be a candidate for the Averill Park Central School Board of Education. During these unprecedented times, I am proud the district continues to diligently work at “meeting the needs of and creating opportunities for every student every day.” Recognizing that resources and state-imposed mandates will continue to be a challenge, I remain committed to addressing these challenges using my strengths of careful research, review of the facts and data, and consideration of constructive input from the community. Our students are our future, and they deserve to have sustainable opportunities for their individual growth and achievement. As current Board President, I remain invested in the success of our District and will continue to collaborate with respectful input, productive dialog, and creative thinking to prepare our students for their futures, including college and career success.

JACKIE GERACI

I have been a member of the Averill Park community for more than 15 years. With my husband, Anthony, and our three children, Vito (APHS Senior), Gianna (APHS Sophomore), and Daniella (Miller Hill 2nd grader), we moved to Averill Park to raise our children in a pleasant environment and a great school district. All three of our children have, and continue to, actively participate in school athletics, clubs and student government. I have been ingrained in the community since moving here. I have been serving as an active volunteer for the past 15 years in various capacities including coaching for Twin Town Little League, St. Henry’s CYO Cheer, President of the Algonquin APO (3 years), Treasurer of the Miller Hill PTA (2 years), APHS Key Club Advisor (2 years), as well as sitting on various school committees, including the AP 2020 Plan and the District Long Range Planning Committee. I am also a Make-A-Wish Volunteer and sat on the board of directors for the Trinity Alliance, which helps disadvantaged youth in the inner city. Our family has been a multi-year host for the Fresh Air program. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Communications/Media Production. I worked in the public relations/communications field for more than 20 years, most recently working for Questar III serving as the Communications Specialist for the Averill Park, Hoosic Valley, Wynantskill and Chatham school districts. I now serve as a real estate agent in the capital district and beyond. I understand the importance of maintaining a high level of education in a desirable school district. If elected to the school board, I promise to build upon the district’s successes and focus on 21st century learning. I know first-hand the quality education our schools provide and promise to serve as an ambassador for the children in our community.
