  7. AMS Final Reminders; Health...

AMS Students and Families:

The countdown is on! Wednesday is the day! School begins at 7:45am and we are all excited to start the school year together!

The only information students need is their Morning Meeting room number to get started on the first day. That information was shared in a letter that was mailed home to families in August.

The building is open this morning from 8am until Noon for grade 6 families that did not have a chance to stop by last night. The school will be closed and staff will not be in the building on Monday (9/6) and Tuesday (9/7).

A few reminders as we get ready for the start of school:

Grade 7 & 8 Families: Please help your child be ready for school by reminding them to charge their Chromebook each night and to be sure to pack it in their backpack for the next school day. If the battery life falls below 20%, the battery has to be sent to our Technology Department to be reseated. If students are charging their Chromebooks every day, this should ensure that their school day and learning is not interrupted.

Please help your child remember to complete their summer reading and math assignments. More information about these assignments is available here: https://www.averillpark.k12.ny.us/ams-summerassignments

School supply lists are available here:
Any family that needs help with school supplies should contact their child’s counselor. Thanks to the generosity of the Sand Lake Kiwanis group, we have many school supplies available for any student that needs them.

All of our videos from this week and important resources for the start of school are available on our AMS Back to School website: https://sites.google.com/apcsd.org/ams2021-22/home

Our final video in the back to school video series is on AMS Student Safety Reminders.
Here at AMS we use a series of common prompts to remind students of our health and safety protocols.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday! Have a great Labor Day weekend.
