AMS students and parents/guardians are invited to attend our Learning Launch event on Tuesday, September 14 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
This program is designed to provide parents/guardians with the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and get to know more about our school program.
Families do not need to attend the program for the full time frame.
Rather, families are encouraged to stop by during this time window when it is convenient and should plan to spend about 30 minutes here at AMS.
Students who do attend are required to stay with their parent/guardian for the duration of their visit including any pop-up programs they attend.

Win Prizes!
Students will be invited to complete a Learning Launch Bingo scavenger hunt activity with their family and be entered in a drawing to win cool prizes!
Before leaving, Bingo sheets can be turned in on Tuesday evening in the Main Foyer.

Scholastic Book Fair
The APO Scholastic Book Fair will also be open during the event outside of the AMS Cafeteria. Stop by and check out high interest books for middle school readers.

Brief (approximately 15-20 minute) presentations on topics important to middle school families will be shared by staff members.
Below is a schedule of tentative presentations and their locations:
– Navigating the Middle School Years with the AMS Counselors (5:30 – Auditorium)
– Physical Education at AMS with the PE Teachers (5:30 – Cafeteria)
– Great Books for Middle Schoolers (5:30 – Collaborative Learning Center – Room 607)
– Music at AMS (6:00 – Auditorium)
– Google Classroom and SchoolTool for Parents (6:00 – Cafeteria)
– DASA, Bullying & Harassment (6:00 – Collaborative Learning Center)
– Vaping, Alcohol & Drug Prevention with Student Assistance Program (6:30 – Cafeteria)
– What is Social Emotional Learning? with the K-12 SEL Counselors (6:30 – Collaborative Learning Center)
