Elizabeth Young joins the District as its new School Counselor for Social Emotional Learning.
“I love teachers and kids. I love the ‘hope’ of education and the intellectual challenge of trying to perfect the art of teaching, emotional wellness and education,” she said.
Ms. Young received her Bachelor’s Degree from Skidmore College and her Masters from Tufts University. She was the Student Assistance Counselor at the elementary level in the Berlin Central School District and was a School Counselor for the Hudson City School District, working with behaviorally challenging students across the elementary and high school levels. Ms. Young is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has been practicing privately, treating anxiety disorders, school adjustment, and eating disorders in New Lebanon for 10 years.
“I love the dedication of the faculty and staff, and the commitment to community that is demonstrated by those that work in schools,” she said. “I love to watch children grow and change throughout their school career.”
Fun Fact! Ms. Young double majored in Dance and English in college. She also loves horses and dogs.
