The APCSD World Languages Department and APHS International Club held its inaugural Import & Domestic Car Show on Saturday, June 4, in the high school parking lot.
Well over 100 cars competed for 21 trophies sponsored by local businesses. More than 30 student volunteers ran the show including registering, parking, and judging cars as well as operating the sound system, washing spectators’ cars, and accepting donations, all of which raised in excess of $2,000 which will go toward World Language senior scholarships.
Ten days before the show even took place, Hemmings Motor News editors Kurt Ernst and Matt Litwin came to APHS to coach the students and APHS principal Mr. Quiles on how to judge car show vehicles.
