Claire Burger has been working in the Averill Park Central School District for 20 years and is retiring at the end of this month.
“I have enjoyed being in the role of teacher since I can remember being older than someone else, likely from the time I was about five years old and had younger cousins,” she said. “Teaching is truly my passion.”
Ms. Burger will miss the connections that she has made with both students and adults.
In retirement, she looks forward to spending more time with family, traveling, hiking, kayaking, and having the space to explore new things.
