After 37 years of working as a Teacher Aide at West Sand Lake Elementary School, Linda King is retiring this month.
“I wanted to become a teacher aide because my kids were attending the school and I wanted to be on their schedule. I have loved working there,” she said. “The staff, students and families are great and to me, it is a special place to work. I love helping the students and that will be the thing I will miss the most. There is nothing like seeing a huge smile on a student’s face when they have figured out a problem or accomplished a task.”
Mrs. King plans on spending time with family and doing some traveling with her husband in retirement. She won’t be fully gone, though, as she plans on being a substitute once in a while.
