On Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, the District offered engaging, relevant professional development to the Transportation Department. The members of the department rotated through five unique sessions, which were led by District staff and local partners. The sessions included:
– Medical Emergencies and First Aid Care with Rebecca Everett, who serves as the District’s Co-Director of Nursing.
– Threats/Emergencies on the Bus, which was led by School Resource Officer Nikles.
– Fire and Bus Accident Procedures with Paul Glasser from the Averill Park Volunteer Fire Company.
– Communicating with Each Other and Students by Linda Bille, who is a retired Algonquin Middle School Social Worker.
– Self Care with Kim Favro, who is the Student Assistance Counselor at Averill Park High School.
