The 18th annual Averill Park Education Foundation Gala will take place on Nov. 15, 2024 from 6:30 – 10 p.m. at the Old Daley on Crooked Lake!

Dear Averill Park Families,
We would like to invite you to attend the Averill Park Education Foundation’s 18th Annual Gala Dinner and Auction Event. This fun-filled community event is one you do not want to miss! Join us as we come together with AP families, educators, administrators, local business people and politicians to celebrate and support our AP community, students, and educators. This year the Gala will be held on Friday, November 15th from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Honorees are selected by members of the Averill Park community by a nomination process. This year, we are thrilled to be recognizing this year’s award recipients:
2024 Educator Award: Denis Sibson &
2024 Community Award: Amanda Goyer
Through the funds raised at the Gala each year, we are able to support various educator generated grants throughout the Averill Park School District. In the 2022-23 school year alone, we approved over $40,000 to teacher generated grants, educator enrichment opportunities and scholarships for deserving APHS seniors.
Some highlights of the 2023-2024 grant year include:
● Lego Spike kits for all elementary library media classes
● World language participatory dance cultural event at Averill Park High School
● Hydroponic growing kits for all elementary schools in the district
● Cornell Cooperative Extension enrichment programs at Miller Hill Elementary
● Stephen Hill person in recovery speaker at Averill Park High School
● Specialized sensory equipment for Miller Hill Elementary
● “Hallway Oasis” equipment for specialized hallway learning place at West Sand Lake
In addition to the grants we’ve been able to provide in the buildings and classrooms, we have also partnered with the Averill Park Central School District to fund a number of Educator Enrichment Grants. These grants enable District teachers to attend professional development that expands their skills, knowledge, and growth as educators. The complete list of grants provided to the District since our origination is available on our website under the ‘Grants’ tab, https://apefoundation.org/ With your support and the support of our many community partnerships we are able to continue providing enriching opportunities to every student, everyday. If you would like to attend the Gala, please register here: https://tinyurl.com/APEFgala2024 or through our website and/ or social media pages. We look forward to seeing you there!
Best,
Tara A. Lindheimer
