The Averill Park Central School District is proud to celebrate Mike Walczak, APCSD Bus Driver, for his six years of service in the United States Army!
Mr. Walczak has been with the Averill Park Central School District for eight years and is proud of his service to his country.
“It definitely helped me grow up and mature quickly. I served in Alaska and Kansas. I was an MP and a Corrections Officer,” Walczak said. “It was a great six years. I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
When asked on what advice he would give to Averill Park CSD students considering joining the military, Walczak said the military provides the opportunity for those who aren’t sure what they want to do in their adult years.
“If you don’t know what you want out of life, then joining the military is fantastic,” Walczak said.” It gives you a purpose and a goal until you figure out what you want to be. And for some, it’s a great career. It’s not for everybody.”
