Students and staff at Miller Hill-Sand Lake Elementary School celebrated Flag Day 2025 with a ceremony led by the MHSL Student Council.
MHSL Music Teacher, Ms. Baker, played ‘Taps’ as Student Council members lowered the flag and replaced it with a new flag. Choral and instrumental students from Averill Park High School, under the direction of Ms. Eliashuk, sang the National Anthem and ‘My Country ‘tis of Thee”. Ms. Baker then led the entire school as we sang “You’re a Grand Old Flag.”
The ceremony ended with the old flag being presented to Mr. Sibson for “his leadership role in our school community.” It was a great celebration of our Stars and Stripes!
