On July 21, 2025, our Board of Education and school district leaders gathered at Averill Park High School for an evening retreat focused on preparing for the upcoming school year.
The retreat featured a unique “station rotation” format where Board members met in small groups with administrators from every part of the district—principals, special education, athletics, transportation, food service, and more. At each station, teams shared:
- 3 successes from last year
- 2 challenges for the year ahead
- 1 thing they’re excited about for 2025–26
This format allowed for open conversation, reflection, and planning. It also gave Board members a chance to hear directly from the people who make our schools run smoothly every day.
After the rotations, the group came together to share big-picture takeaways and ended the night with a discussion about the future of our capital project and facility upgrades.
