APHS students, parents, and guardians,

We are pleased to have opened our schedules for the 2025-2026 school year. These are available in Schooltool today.

In addition to the release of schedules, please find here a link to the APHS Opening Newsletter for Student and Parents:

This document contains all the resources, news and materials which you will need to be in the know as we open the year!. We have a lot of exciting work, and a small handful of bigger shifts, on the horizon.  Of particular note, please be sure to carefully read the information related to our fully cell phone, and distraction-free, environment at APHS for the upcoming year.

As you review your schedule, please know that our counseling team has made every effort to reduce student conflicts, and maximize enrollment in the courses which students most selected.  From a statistical standpoint, this year’s schedule yielded one of the smallest number of student-level course conflicts we have ever experienced.  Of course, a complex schedule of this size will always have conflicts, and some students have needed to, or will still need to, make some choices.  Counselors will continue to work with students on these issues, as they arise.

Please keep in mind that student schedules will not be changed prior to our official Add/Drop period, which will occur between September 10th and September 19th.  You may request a change of your schedule between now and then, ONLY if one of the following circumstances have occurred:

  • a student has failed a prerequisite course and needs the next course in the sequence,
  • a student went to summer school and no longer needs the assigned course,
  • a student is repeating a course with the same teacher,
  • a clerical error has resulted in two courses being scheduled at the same time,
  • a student would like to enroll in a credit-bearing course in place of a study hall,
  • there are special medical considerations, documented by a physician.

If you have any questions about your schedule, please contact our Counseling Center at (518) 674-7025.  Our counseling staff will be back to work starting on Monday, August 25th to assist you.  Please know that prior to that date, you may leave a voicemail, but a counselor will not get back to you until they return.

Finally, for our incoming 9th graders and new entrants, please remember that our New Student Orientation Program will occur at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, August 27th.

To everyone else, we are looking forward to an exciting new beginning with each of you as we open the 2025-2026 school year on Thursday September 4th.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the high school at (518) 674-7002.

We are looking forward to having everyone back in just a couple of short weeks!
