Averill Park CSD honored a U.S. Army veteran with a special in-home graduation ceremony, presenting him with a diploma, cap, and gown as part of Operation Recognition. Surrounded by family and friends, the veteran was celebrated for his service and sacrifice, while finally receiving the high school diploma he deserved.
Operation Recognition, established under Section 305 of New York State Education Law, allows veterans who left school early to serve their country the opportunity to be awarded their diplomas in recognition of their devotion and sacrifice.
