This week is School Bus Safety Week and the District would like to recognize our dedicated Transportation Department for getting our students to and from school safely.
Averill Park CSD is the first district in Rensselaer County to train its entire Transportation Department in the use of Narcan and equip all buses with the medication, through a partnership established by Nopiates and the Rensselaer County Department of Health. The training, held yesterday for drivers, attendants, mechanics, and dispatchers, reflects the District’s ongoing commitment to student and community safety.
“Our entire Transportation Department goes above and beyond every day,” said Premo. “Their professionalism and preparedness keep our students safe.”
Highlights of the district’s transportation achievements include:
-
100% passing rate on annual DOT inspections
-
Implementation of new safety protocols for bus accidents
-
Certification of all employees in CPR, AED, and first aid
Averill Park CSD is hiring FT/PT and substitute bus drivers. Join a team committed to safety, student care, and innovation in transportation.
