The Sand Lake holiday parade on Friday was a wonderful success, featuring local groups like the Miller Hill-Sand Lake and West Sand Lake Elementary PTAs. The MHSL PTA’s float, decorated with help from the student council, featured their beloved mascot, Paws, which was a fan favorite. The group also thanked PTA President Katlyn M. Willis for the float, the heat, and the hospitality.
The District’s transportation department also showcased a highly decorated school bus in the parade. The impressive decorations, which were personally paid for by the transportation employees, included a singing and dancing minion, a BT music sound system, a snow machine, illuminated undercarriage and tires, and approximately 10,000 lights. The display took one week to prepare and was also featured in the North Greenbush parade on Saturday. Thank you Maria McFarland, Stacey Walczak, Mike Walczak, Dave McNeil, Sarah Warner, Laura Schreiner, Betty Sager, Colleen Catlin, Jim Rogers, Colin Stewart, Erika Bucholz, Ruby Geerholt, Brenda Hammond, Brett Lesson, Anthony Spath, Chris Gallant.
