As you may know, Board of Education Member Michelle Garofolo was elected as the Poestenkill Town Supervisor. Since individuals are not allowed to hold the position of town supervisor and school board member simultaneously, Ms. Garofolo’s seat on the Averill Park Board of Education became open as of January 1, 2026.
At Monday night’s meeting, the Board appointed Ann Morone to fill the vacant seat. Ms. Morone previously served on the Board of Education. Her term will expire on May 19 when a new member will be elected.
The District thanks Ms. Garofolo for her service and dedication and welcomes Ms. Morone back to the Board of Education.
