Throughout February, Averill Park High School recognized Black History Month by sharing daily slides in the cafeteria that highlighted influential Black leaders, innovators, and historical moments. The rotating displays gave students an opportunity to learn something new each day while passing through the cafeteria. Black History Month Slides
As part of the month’s activities, APHS student Amar Lyons also delivered a presentation focused on Black Olympic athletes and their impact on sports and history. His presentation explored the achievements, challenges, and lasting influence of these athletes, helping classmates better understand their contributions both on and off the field.
