Elementary students across the District are exploring math concepts through creative, hands-on projects. At West Sand Lake Elementary School, students built “Volume Zoo” animals to learn about volume by constructing three-dimensional figures. At Miller Hill–Sand Lake Elementary School, students designed square-inch robots using grid paper to calculate the area of each body part and practiced measuring angles with protractors. The activities helped students connect geometry concepts like volume, area and angles with creativity and real-world problem solving.
