Averill Park High School is proud to announce that student artist Maya Love (Class of 2026) has received two prestigious awards for her mixed media painting, “Servitude,”
Maya’s work was selected for inclusion in the highly competitive Annual High School Regional exhibition, where approximately 100 pieces were chosen from more than 500 submissions representing 27 area schools. Having a piece accepted into the exhibition is a significant achievement on its own, making Maya’s additional recognition especially noteworthy.
Maya received the Albany Art Room Award, which includes a $150 gift certificate to be used toward classes or workshops. She was also honored with a Juror’s Choice Award, which includes a $100 cash prize as well as a free one-year membership to the Albany Center Gallery. This membership offers valuable opportunities, including the chance to participate in the gallery’s upcoming Members Exhibition.
Averill Park High School had an impressive showing overall, with eight students contributing a total of nine pieces to this year’s exhibition.
The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, April 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Albany Center Gallery, located at 49 North Pearl Street in Albany. The exhibition will remain on view through April 24 and is free and open to the public.
Community members are encouraged to visit the gallery to celebrate Maya Love’s accomplishments, along with the outstanding work of all participating student artists.
