The Averill Park varsity softball team opened its season with an impressive showing during its trip to Myrtle Beach.
On day one, Anna Fedorowicz and Abby Colwill each pitched complete games to lead the Golden Knights to 8–1 and 10–0 victories. The team continued its strong play on day two with a 22–0 win in five innings behind a shutout from Ellie Lindow and a home run from Kaleina Bowen. In the second game, Averill Park secured a 12–1 win in six innings, with Fedorowicz and Colwill combining in the circle and Colwill adding a home run at the plate.
