  7. APHS Students Present Research...

On March 28, four Averill Park High School students, accompanied by teacher sponsor Mr. Reddy, attended the Regeneron Greater Capital Region Science and Engineering Fair, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Each student presented an original research project and met with 10–13 judges throughout the event.

  • Alexis Smith — Assessing the influence of schoolwide interventions on feelings of school connectedness
  • William Cumming — Mechanics of global away vectors in Reticulitermes
  • Roy Wajda — Measurement of branching fractions for Λ0b decays
  • Tessa Lindheimer — Influence of sea cucumbers on coral heat tolerance

The experience provided students with an opportunity to share their work, respond to expert feedback and engage in high-level scientific discussion.
