24 APHS Jazz Ensemble students traveled to Philadelphia to participate in the National Jazz Festival. The event consisted of 88 schools from throughout the greater northeast who performed for adjudicators and received feedback.
Congratulations to Cameron Fisher (piano) who, prior to the festival, auditioned and was chosen to perform with the student group that opened the evening concert, the Jazz Diplomats. Adjudicators also highlighted Morgan Dier (alto saxophone) and Tyler Mercado (trumpet) for excellent solo work.
After participating in an hour long clinic from three professors from Fordham University who work with the Jazz Arts Collective, students were able to hear other jazz ensembles and were treated to a performance by the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors.
