The Averill Park Central School District Board of Education appointed Bill Sansone as Director of Facilities at its meeting Tuesday night. Sansone previously served as the District’s Assistant Director of Facilities.
Sansone succeeds Aaron Heffner, who will retire at the end of the month after 30 years of dedicated service to the District. Throughout his career, Heffner has overseen the daily operations of buildings and grounds and played a key role in maintaining district facilities and responding to critical situations.
“Aaron has been a steady and dedicated leader for our department and the entire district,” Sansone said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue that work and support our schools, staff and community.”
Heffner expressed confidence in the transition and the future of the department.
“Bill has been an integral part of our team and understands the work at every level,” Heffner said. “I’m confident the department will be in good hands moving forward.”
The District thanks Heffner for his decades of service and congratulates Sansone on his new role.
