Students in Mrs. Ferlito’s program recently participated in hands-on learning experiences, both in the community and in the classroom, that help build independence, workplace readiness and everyday life skills.
Each Monday, students complete community-based work at Unbreakable Nutrition, where owner Sarah Wehnau gave students the opportunity to create their own specialty drinks. In class, they practiced cooking and food preparation skills by making homemade strawberry jam.
