The APHS Contra Corners Club will host a beginner-friendly contra dance event open to students, families and community members on Thursday, May 14, from 4-6 p.m. in Ms. Eliashuk’s Room 105 at Averill Park High School.
The event will feature guest caller Rindle Glick, along with live music from local fiddler George Wilson and pianist Alan Thomson. Designed for participants of all experience levels, the event aims to introduce attendees to community folk dancing in an accessible and welcoming environment.
Admission is free, with optional donations accepted. Snacks and refreshments will also be available during the event.
The dance is made possible through a DFO-YO grant sponsored by the DanceFlurry Organization.
