Averill Park CSD will hold its annual Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, June 25, at the MVP Arena in Albany at 6:30 p.m.
Averill Park High School Principal Heath Quiles has announced that the student leadership team has selected current APHS Chemistry teacher, Dr. Beth Perry, as the guest speaker for this year’s ceremony. Congratulations to Dr. Perry, who will certainly do an exceptional job with this honor!
Additionally, APHS received six impressive speeches from students who were interested in being considered to be one of the two student speakers at the ceremony. These were submitted with no identifying information, except for a phone number. A committee reviewed each speech, and each member independently voted for the speeches they preferred.
This year’s student speakers at the Commencement Ceremony for the APHS Class of 2026 will be:
- Sierra Iwaneczko
- Alexa Ruppe
Congratulations to both of these students on a job well done, and many thanks to the other students who submitted speeches.
