

Important Information for Parents and Students
June 2026 Regents Exam Week
Averill Park High School
Tuesday, June 9 – Wednesday, June 10 & Wednesday, June 17 – Thursday, June 25
The last day of instruction is Tuesday, June 16. No exams are given on this day.
Tuesday, June 9 – ELA:
- APHS will be running a regularly scheduled day of classes.
- Buses will be running on their regular schedule.
- The cafeteria will be running on its regular schedule
- Students should plan to be at school at the normal time (prior to 7:30am). At the 7:30am bell, all students taking the ELA exam will report directly to the auditorium. Students will leave all bags, cell phones, smart watches, and other electronic devices in the auditorium while they test.
- At approximately 7:40am students will be sent to their testing locations. The ELA exam will begin at 8am.
- For all Regents exams, students are required to sit for the test for a minimum of 2 hours and maximum of 3 hours. When students are done and released from their test, they will go to their normally scheduled class (or to lunch if they missed their scheduled lunch).
- The remainder of the day will follow the regular B-day schedule.
Wednesday, June 10 – Algebra II:
- APHS will be running a regularly scheduled day of classes.
- Buses will be running on their regular schedule.
- The cafeteria will be running on its regular schedule
- Students should plan to be at school at the normal time (prior to 7:30am). At the 7:30am bell, all students taking the Algebra II exam will report directly to the auditorium. Students will leave all bags, cell phones, smart watches, and other electronic devices in the auditorium while they test.
- At approximately 7:40am students will be sent to their testing locations. The Algebra II exam will begin at 8am.
- For all Regents exams, students are required to sit for the test for a minimum of 2 hours and maximum of 3 hours. When students are done and released from their test, they will go to their normally scheduled class (or to lunch if they missed their scheduled lunch).
- The remainder of the day will follow the regular A-day schedule.
Wednesday, June 17 – Algebra I (8am), Global History (12pm):
- Buses will be running on their regular schedule. There will not be a midday run, so students must either provide their own transportation at the appropriate time, or if staying at school, remain in the cafeteria. Additionally, afternoon buses will leave school at their regular time, 2:10pm.
- If a student taking the afternoon exam (Global) goes past 2:10pm, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Students taking the morning exam (Algebra 1) will be sent from the cafeteria to their exam room 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam (approximately 7:45am). When students are done with their exam, they can either secure their own transportation home, or report to the cafeteria and wait there until the afternoon bus run at 2:10pm.
- Students taking the afternoon exam (Global History) can secure their own transportation into school, or arrive on the morning bus and wait in the cafeteria for their exam. Students that are securing their own transportation should arrive at the school NO LATER THAN 11:40am. The Global History exam will begin at 12:00pm.
- The cafeteria will be open and offer breakfast from 7:20-8:00am, and lunch from 10:00-11:30am.
- Afternoon buses will leave school at their regular time of 2:10pm. If students are still taking an exam past that time, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Once students have completed their exams, they must report directly to the cafeteria to wait for appropriate transportation, or they must leave campus immediately. Students may not be in any other part of the building.
Thursday, June 18 – Life Science: Bio and Living Environment (8am), Earth and Space Sciences (12pm):
- Buses will be running on their regular schedule. There will not be a midday run, so students must either provide their own transportation at the appropriate time, or if staying at school, remain in the cafeteria. Additionally, afternoon buses will leave school at their regular time, 2:10pm.
- If a student taking the afternoon exam (Earth and Space Sciences) goes past 2:10pm, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Students taking the morning exam (Life Science: Bio or Living Environment) will be sent from the cafeteria to their exam room 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam (approximately 7:45am). When students are done with their exam, they can either secure their own transportation home, or report to the cafeteria and wait there until the afternoon bus run at 2:10pm.
- Students taking the afternoon exam (Earth and Space Sciences) can secure their own transportation into school, or arrive on the morning bus and wait in the cafeteria for their exam. Students that are securing their own transportation should arrive at the school NO LATER THAN 11:40am. The Earth and Space Sciences exam will begin at 12:00pm.

Friday, June 19 – Juneteenth:
- School will be closed and there will be no exams held.
Monday, June 22 – Spanish and French Checkpoint B (12pm):
- Buses will be running on their regular schedule. There will not be a midday run, so students must either provide their own transportation at the appropriate time, or if staying at school, remain in the cafeteria. Additionally, afternoon buses will leave school at their regular time, 2:10pm.
- The only exam of the day, Spanish and French Checkpoint B, will be held in the afternoon. Students that are securing their own transportation should arrive at the school NO LATER THAN 11:40am. Students will be held in the cafeteria until sent to their exam locations at approximately 11:45am. The Checkpoint B exams start at 12:00pm.
- The cafeteria will be open and offer limited breakfast from 7:20-8:00am, and limited lunch from 10:00-11:30am.
- Afternoon buses will leave school at their regular time of 2:10pm. If students are still taking an exam past that time, they will need to secure their own transportation.
- Once students have completed their exams, they must report directly to the cafeteria to wait for appropriate transportation, or they must leave campus immediately. Students may not be in any other part of the building.
Tuesday, June 23 – US History (8am), Geometry (12pm):
- Buses will be running on their regular schedule. There will not be a midday run, so students must either provide their own transportation at the appropriate time, or if staying at school, remain in the cafeteria. Additionally, afternoon buses will leave the High School at 2:30pm.
- If a student taking the afternoon exam (Geometry) goes past 2:30pm, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Students taking the morning exam (US History) will be sent from the cafeteria to their exam room 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam (approximately 7:45am). When students are done with their exam, they can either secure their own transportation home, or report to the cafeteria and wait there until the afternoon bus run at 2:30pm.
- Students taking the afternoon exam (Geometry) can secure their own transportation into school, or arrive on the morning bus and wait in the cafeteria for their exam. Students that are securing their own transportation should arrive at the school NO LATER THAN 11:40am. The Geometry exam will begin at 12:00pm.
- The cafeteria will be open and offer breakfast from 7:20-8:00am, and lunch from 10:00-11:30am.
- Afternoon buses will leave school at 2:30pm. If students are still taking an exam past that time, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Once students have completed their exams, they must report directly to the cafeteria to wait for appropriate transportation, or they must leave campus immediately. Students may not be in any other part of the building.
Wednesday, June 24 – Chemistry (8am):
- Morning buses will run on their regular schedule. The only bus run home will be at 10:25am. There will be NO pm bus run later in the day.
- If a student taking the morning exam (Chemistry) goes past 10:25am, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Students taking the morning exam (Chemistry) will be sent from the cafeteria to their exam room 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam (approximately 7:45am). When students are done with their exam, they can either secure their own transportation home, or report to the cafeteria and wait there until the mid-day bus run at 10:25am.
- The cafeteria will be open and offer breakfast from 7:20-8:00am. There will be no lunch served.
- Mid-day buses will leave school at 10:25am. If students are still taking an exam past that time, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Once students have completed their exams, they must report directly to the cafeteria to wait for appropriate transportation, or they must leave campus immediately. Students may not be in any other part of the building.
Thursday, June 25 – Physics (8am):
- Morning buses will run on their regular schedule. The only bus run home will be at 10:25am. There will be NO pm bus run later in the day.
- If a student taking the morning exam (Physics) goes past 10:25am, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Students taking the morning exam (Physics) will be sent from the cafeteria to their exam room 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam (approximately 7:45am). When students are done with their exam, they can either secure their own transportation home, or report to the cafeteria and wait there until the mid-day bus run at 10:25am.
- The cafeteria will be open and offer breakfast from 7:20-8:00am. There will be no lunch served.
- Mid-day buses will leave school at 10:25am. If students are still taking an exam past that time, they will need to secure their own transportation home.
- Once students have completed their exams, they must report directly to the cafeteria to wait for appropriate transportation, or they must leave campus immediately. Students may not be in any other part of the building.
BOCES and New Visions Students for the Week of Regents Exams:
- The last day of classes for BOCES & New Visions programs is Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
Keep in Mind:
For Morning Exams: No students may enter the exam room after 10:00 AM
No students may leave the exam room before 10:00 AM
For Afternoon Exams: No students may enter the exam room after 2:00 PM
No students may leave the exam room before 2:00 PM
Regents exams last at least 2 hours, and up to 3 hours.
There are no make-up provisions for students who arrive late or miss an exam!
In the Exam Room:
No bags, cell phones, smart watches, or other electronic devices are allowed in testing locations. Possession of these items or any perception of cheating will result in a zero and a forfeited exam. All electronic devices must be turned off and left in the cafeteria. Please bring pencils, pens, calculators, and other materials that you will need for your exam in a clear ziplock bag.
Please Note: If your child is unable to access an exam, or use assigned accommodations, due to transportation issues, please contact your school counselor so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
