Please be aware that a grub infestation exists on the Averill Park High School athletic fields, which may lead to unsafe field conditions. To remedy this, the District will apply a selective pesticide on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
All fields and the track at Averil Park High School will be closed for 24 hours following the application. The facilities will re-open on Monday, September 7. The tennis courts will remain open throughout the process.
New York State Education Law, Section 409-H requires schools to provide written notification regarding actual or potential use of pesticides throughout the school year. We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep our community informed if any further action is needed.
