AMS Student Assistance Program
The Student Assistance Program works with students and their families encouraging healthy coping alternatives. The program provides confidential services for student’s whose personal concerns may be affecting their performance or behavior in school.
All students in grades 6-8 receive classroom prevention lessons throughout the school year which encourage them to look at the facts and make good healthy and safe choices. Self-respect and problem-solving techniques are key to resist temptations, dares, and negative peer pressure.
Drugs and alcohol are discussed to help students understand the physical, emotional and social risks associated with experimentation and addiction.
