The WSL Ambassador Togetherness Group Began this Past October

The WSL Ambassador Togetherness Group promotes inclusion opportunities, encourages friendships between our general and special education students, and promotes awareness and acceptance to all students in our school. Different groups of students work together to complete a fun activity, such as a game, art project, or a teamwork task. The impact of this program has been positive for all involved as well as the whole school community. Friendship and acceptance are witnessed in the cafeteria, during recess, and even in the hallways with simple “hellos” and “good mornings”.  During the school year, the team has observed our Ambassadors help our Special Education students with walking to class, helping carry a backpack, and inviting students to join at the lunch table. This truly has been a great pilot program this year and plans for next school year are in place to give more students an opportunity to participate.
