  7. District Goals Change

For the last three years, the Averill Park Central School District has had three defined goals, which include the following:

  1. Students will graduate college and career ready.
  2. Students will productively engage in their school community.
  3. School staff will ensure student growth through the utilization of data.

These goals helped ensure that we were meeting our District mission of meeting the needs of and creating opportunities for every student every day. Goal number three has now become a part of our everyday culture, as data is being used to accomplish the other two goals.

During the September 14 Board of Education Meeting, the District’s third goal was changed to “Students will be digitally fluent by demonstrating the ability to live productively and safely in a technology-influenced society.”

For a full explanation of this change, please watch this video from Assistant Superintendent Matt Hladun.
